From 1 July 2009, the Department for Planning and Infrastructure became the Department of Planning and the Department of Transport. State Land Services and Pastoral Leases became part of the Department of Regional Development and Lands.

Transporting woodchips and timber logs

What is the new woodchips and timber logs freight licence?

If you are a  truck owner transporting woodchips and timber logs to the Port of Bunbury that are sourced in the South West, you might need a licence from the Department.

From 1 January 2008 changes to the Transport Co-ordination Act 1966 will require truck owners to be licensed for the transport of woodchips and timber logs.

The licence is only necessary for the following catchment area:-

  • Boyup Brook,

  • Nannup,

  • Bridgetown-Greenbushes,

  • Donnybrook-Balingup and

  • Manjimup.

How to apply for a commercial goods vehicle licence to transport woodchips and timber logs

You can apply for your licence from 20 November 2007 using one of the following methods:-
