Pre-book your vehicle examination

To reduce waiting times and improve our service to customers, a booking system for vehicle examinations is in operation at selected vehicle examination centres.

 

Where to book

Metropolitan customers wishing to get their vehicle examined by a vehicle examination centre can now book their vehicle in at a time and day suitable to them.

How to pre-book your vehicle inspection

Customers can call 1300 782 713 to connect to the nearest vehicle examination centre and book an examination.

When calling for an appointment, customers are advised to enquire what documentation is required at the examination, (including a Temporary Moving Permit) and what costs are involved.

  • Customers are requested to arrive at least five minutes before their appointment and to report to the booking coordinator or senior examiner.
  • Customers are required to give 24-hours notice of a cancellation or to re-schedule an appointment.

Which vehicles examinations may be pre-booked?

All vehicle examinations can be pre-booked at the participating vehicle examination centres.

  • Vehicles that have been entered into the Written-Off Vehicle Register (WOVR) as Repairable Write-Offs are required to be examined for licensing purposes.
  • The time taken to pass such a vehicle depends upon a number of factors including how readily it can be identified, the quality of the evidence to support the repairs required and the quality of the repairs.
  • Vehicles that have been entered into the WOVR may only be examined at vehicle examination centres that offer the booking system.
