Annual vehicle examinations

The Road Traffic (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 2002 requires that some vehicles be subject to annual examinations every time vehicle registration is renewed.

In general these vehicles include buses and taxis, however other types of vehicles such as left hand drive vehicles are also included.

Residents of Western Australia will be sent out a notification letter informing them annually of this requirement.

If you have not receive a notification letter and you believe your vehicle may be subject to an annual examination, you should inform the Department - Licensing Services.

Licensing Services should be notified of any change of name and/or address, or change of vehicle ownership.

Download a Change of Personal Details form or
