From 1 July 2009, the Department for Planning and Infrastructure became the Department of Planning and the Department of Transport. State Land Services and Pastoral Leases became part of the Department of Regional Development and Lands.

Getting a taxi licence

To become a taxi driver you will need to undertake specialised training and assessment as well as apply for a 'T' endorsement on your driver's licence. The taxi driver training section provides more information about this process.

Once you have completed all training and assessment requirements, you may wish to purchase a duplicate licence to show the 'T' endorsement if your licence is not due for renewal.
