How to pay your driver's licence

There are a number of different ways to pay your driver's licence.

Pay online

You can now pay your driver's licence renewal online if it does not require for a new photograph to be taken.

Please go to our online payments section and follow the instructions to complete your transaction.

Pay on the phone

You can now pay your driver's licence renewal on the telephone if it does not require for a new photograph to be taken.

Ring 1300 655 322 and follow the prompts.

Payment in person

Payment must be made in person when a new photograph is required. You must present your invoice (account) together with proof of identity at any

  • Metropolitan or regional licensing centre (cash, cheque, EFTPOS, Visa or Mastercard).
  • Metropolitan or regional Australia Post Offices based in Western Australia cash, cheque, money order, EFTPOS, Visa or Mastercard).
  • Regional licensing agent (cash, cheque, EFTPOS*, Visa* or Mastercard*).

Payment by mail

Payment can only be made by mail if the front of the invoice (account) states personal attendance is not required. Please detach the payment advice and mail with cheque or money order to

Learner's permit fees

You will need to pay the following fees in the course of trying to get your driver's licence

FeesF and T class extensions

The fee for F or T class licence extensions is: SSI - F Endorsement Application $103.30

If you must have a medical test, your permit will not be issued until you have passed that test. Your application fee will not be refunded if your application is refused (for example, for medical reasons).

Log book fee

Once you pass the practical driving assessment you will progress to learner phase II. You will be issued with a log book for which a fee will be payable.

Driver's licence concessions>

WA seniors holding both a Western Australian Senior's Card and Commonwealth Senior's Health Card will be eligible for the same concessions as Aged Pensioners holding a Pensioner Concession Card. A 100% Driver's Licence fee concession will apply (ie. the Driver's Licence is free). All original applications for a driver's licence concession must be made at a Licensing Centre.

If you do not have a Senior's Card and have reached the age of 60, you should ring the Office of Seniors' Interests on (08) 6217 8800 to make further enquiries.

A person who holds a Pensioner Concession Card or a Senior's Card is entitled to a concession on their driver's licence.

Age Pensioners

No fee is payable for a person classified as an Age pensioner.

All Pensioner Concession Card holders pay a reduced rate of 50%.

  • 1 year - SSI - Licence fee - 1 year (Pensioner) $11.60
  • 5 years - SSI - Licence fee - 5 year (Pensioner) $58.00

Senior's Card Holders

Senior's Card holders pay a reduced rate of 50%.

  • 1 year - SSI - Licence fee - 1 year (Pensioner) $11.60
  • 5 years - SSI - Licence fee - 5 year (Pensioner) $58.00
